HOW DOES IT WORK?
First, register in our secure database, adding as much detail as desired to your profile. The more information we have, the better able we will be to match you with an upcoming study.
Follow us on Instagram & Facebook (can we make sure these link to our Instagram & Facebook pages) to and keep track of our current projects. We use our social media pages as a way to reach participants for current studies and include links to the pre-screening questionnaires.
Keep an eye open for emails from CRC Research which ask you to fill out a short online questionnaire. These questionnaires help us narrow down who we are looking for and will help us identify if you fit the criteria for a current study. If you match our client’s demographic, you will receive an email or phone call from a member of the friendly CRC Research Coordinator team. Generally, we will have further qualifying questions and, if your profile matches our criteria, you will be invited to take part. You will receive all necessary details, such as the date, time, location, and honoraria amount.
Honoraria ranges from $50-100+ for a focus group, and $35-75 for a taste test. The more specialized and/or niche the topic, the higher the honoraria.

Why should I join your consumer panel?
The information and opinions you provide through market research help companies develop new products and services, and guide governments in deciding policy.
By participating in our surveys and discussion groups, you will make your voice heard. Our projects are fun, and we always pay respondents. To become a member, simply register with us.
What happens to the information I give you?
We will not share your email address or any of the personal information you provide with anyone else, and we will only contact you to invite you to participate in a research study. The personal information we collect about you will never be used to market products and services, and CRC will never sell your personal information.
What happens to the information I provide during a survey or study?
Any information you provide during research is combined with all other study participants’ results to provide overall input on the research topic; no individual is ever identified.
What sort of market research projects will I be contacted for?
You may be contacted to:
• Participate in a taste test for well-known product
• Test the latest video game
• Join a 2-hour discussion group or a 1-hour individual interview
Topics could include travel, banking, medical conditions, food, beverage, beer, automobiles, and services that you would like the government to provide. We even conduct mock jury trials as a practice for the real thing!
How much will I be paid?
You will be paid an incentive of $50+ depending on the study length and complexity
What time of day to focus groups happen?
Most focus groups and individual interviews are scheduled for the evening. Taste tests and mock jury trials typically happen on weekends.
Where do focus groups/taste tests take place?
Most focus groups and taste tests take place at a research facility. These facilities are conveniently located in major centres across Canada. Other projects, such as online focus groups, surveys, diaries, in-home product tests, or telephone interviews can be completed in your own home.
How often can I participate in market research studies?
There are strict industry standards about how often a person can participate in focus groups and one-on-one interviews. We do not call anyone who has participated in a study in the last six months. However, you can be called on a more frequent basis for taste tests and online surveys.
Can other members of my household join?
Yes, as long as their email address is different from yours.
What if I don’t want to be contacted again?
Just tell us – we respect your wishes and privacy and will not contact you again.
